Episode 67 – Bise, Driscoll, Green Baby!

When historians listen to Episode 67, a hundred years from now, I wonder what they’ll think about our discussion of the General Motors bailout? I know it’s not a new topic, but some of the things we (that is, me and my guests Stephen Green and Ed Driscoll) discussed were new and led to a pretty heavy, but enjoyable first half-hour. When I say “heavy”, I don’t mean ponderous, by the way. I mean that the subject is important (and I trust that didn’t sound terribly pretentious) and I think the points we hit were perhaps the most important parts of an important subject.

The second half was a bit of a loose affair, which is where Steve and Ed work best, I think. We started with the Beatles and somehow ended up on “Spiderman: The Musical”. It went downhill fast from there.

Actually, that’s not quite true. We didn’t start with the Beatles. We actually began the half with the World Premiere of my first-ever listener-produced song parodies. Loyal Canadian listener Greg, inspired by last week’s show, put together a rap that pretty darned good. But after that, there was goofiness that eventually involved The Hulk and Meat Loaf, but it was all good.
