Episode 95 – Dream a Really Big Dream

Now that SMP Mike has released Episode 95 into the wild, The Delivery is five weeks from its 100th episode and a bit under two months from its second birthday.

I mention that because being a successful broadcaster has been a dream of mine since I was young. Now, you might not think that a weekly podcast that’s not heard by as many people a month as attend one National Hockey League game is the definition of success, but it is. See, 95 weeks ago this podcast didn’t exist and now it’s a regular fixture of many peoples’ lives — whether they listen to it here, download it from iTunes, or join the live show on Tuesday nights. There are plenty of podcasts that have fallen by the wayside since I started The Delivery, and we’ll see a few more pull into the garage before I’m done here, too.

So, yeah, this is success. SMP Mike and I built a solid, entertaining, growing podcast from essentially nothing. We promote it with little else but Twitter, our own websites, and the incredible word-of-mouth power of all of you who listen and love the show and look where it is now.

But — there’s always a “but”, isn’t there? –it’s far from the only success SMP Mike and I will see here. The Delivery will get bigger. There will be more. The second half of the show deals a bit with the dreams I have for the show and for my involvement in new media overall and how we all ought to spend a little part of every day working on fulfilling our dreams. It’s pure inspirational candy and don’t we all need a piece of that once in a while?

I spent the first half of the show talking about media bias and how the right has been sorely let down by Tucker Carlson and The Daily Caller. I think the two halves of this show go very well together. You’ll have to listen to find out how, though.

Great show! It keeps getting better and better. When you distilled down Tucker and his site….genius. It’s True though, I actually quit following that site in my iPhone app because honestly it became a bit of parody of itself. The huffpo of the right…more like the “Star” with some Repub bashing here and there. It’s as if the handles are coming off and they are grabbing at anything to hang on…..duh! Losing…anyway, great show and pray the best to you and all your hopes and dreams…lol… in the new media blog/pod-asphere.
